Overview & Core Commitment
Welcome to All Document Reader: PDF, Word (hereinafter referred to as the "Application" or "App"), developed and distributed by phoenix.org ("we", "our", or "us").
Information Collection & Device Permissions
To provide file reading, organizing, and management functionalities, the App requires certain operating system permissions. We only request permissions strictly essential for the core utility of reading your files.
Storage Access Permissions (Android & iOS)
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Why it is needed: Enables the app to scan, list, open, rename, bookmark, and render documents (.pdf, .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .txt) stored in your device's internal storage or SD card.
Strict Boundary: Under no circumstances are the names, contents, or metadata of your personal files collected, transmitted, or monitored by us. Access remains entirely on-device.
Device & Telemetry Data
When you use the App, our integrated third-party analytics and ad network SDKs may automatically collect non-personally identifiable diagnostic information, including:
- Device model, manufacturer, and operating system version (e.g., Android 14, iOS 17)
- IP address (used to infer broad geographic region such as country/city)
- Network connection status (Wi-Fi vs Mobile Cellular)
- App crashes, ANRs (Application Not Responding), and rendering failure logs
- Advertising ID (Google AAID or Apple IDFA, subject to your consent settings)
How Information Is Used
We process telemetry and device identifiers strictly for lawful bases and explicit product improvement purposes:
Core Functionality
Loading, sorting, searching, zooming, caching, and editing office documents and PDFs locally.
App Stability & Diagnostics
Detecting memory leaks, crash logs, and optimizing parsing engines across different device architectures.
Advertising & Monetization
Displaying contextual or personalized advertisements to support free access to the reader tool.
Compliance & Security
Preventing fraudulent ad traffic, verifying software integrity, and complying with app store guidelines.
Third-Party SDKs & Service Providers
The App integrates industry-standard SDKs to serve advertisements and analyze performance. These external providers process data according to their independent privacy statements:
| Partner / SDK | Purpose | Data Processed | Privacy Link |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | In-app advertisements (banner, interstitial, rewarded) | Advertising ID (AAID/IDFA), IP address, interaction metrics | Google Privacy |
| Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics | Crash reporting and feature usage analysis | Stack traces, device manufacturer, OS build, session events | Firebase Policy |
| Google Play Services | App authentication, updates & billing services | Device identifiers, purchase tokens | Google Services |
You can opt out of interest-based ads by adjusting settings on your mobile device (e.g., Google Settings > Ads > Delete Advertising ID on Android, or Settings > Privacy > Tracking on iOS).
Data Storage & Security
We prioritize the protection of your digital environment. Because our App functions primarily offline and processes files locally, the risk of cloud-based intercept or server breaches involving your confidential files is mitigated at the architectural level.
Temporary rendering caches are kept within Android/iOS app sandboxes, isolated from unauthorized external apps.
All diagnostic logs sent to Firebase and ad requests to AdMob utilize modern TLS/HTTPS encryption protocols.
We do not operate cloud storage relays; your documents stay on your device unless you share them yourself.
User Rights (GDPR & CCPA / CPRA)
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California), you hold specific statutory privacy rights regarding your data:
- Right of Access & Portability: You may request disclosure of any telemetry data linked to your advertising identifier.
- Right to Erasure / Deletion: You can clear app storage, cache, or reset your Advertising ID at any time via your device settings.
- Do Not Sell or Share My Information: We do not sell personal data or trade document contents to data brokers.
- Revoke Permissions: You can withdraw file storage permissions anytime via your OS settings (
Settings > Apps > All Document Reader > Permissions).
Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our application is not targeted at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain EU member states). We do not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information from children. If we become aware that personal information of a child has been inadvertently gathered without parental consent verification, we will promptly take steps to delete such records from our diagnostic analytics systems.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in legal statutes, OS permission requirements, or app features. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date" at the top. We recommend checking this page periodically to stay informed about how we safeguard your information.
